On this particular evening the Woman was encircled by a wall of men – at least that is how it seemed to him. He was reticent, did not speak to her, was afraid perhaps. The Man allowed destiny to take control of his heart.
"The wind lifted the leaf higher before it reached the flower,
It began to move away from the flower,
It was not aware of the danger that it may never reach the flower.
It was tossed by the wind,
It was at the mercy of the wind and could do nothing about it.
The flower, on the other hand, was only gently swayed by the wind,
Back and forth the flower tried to find its balance,
It waited where it was…
Not knowing that it was waiting,
Not feeling a need,
Without realising what would complete its life."
Although much time elapsed since the Man first saw the woman and decided to let destiny take its course, he never lost interest in the Woman. Each time he expressed his interest, the Woman would respond with all her facial expressions and gestures. "Why not, why should I depart from this land without meeting her?" the man wondered. And so they met at the opera house and their hearts were warmed by the words and smiles they exchanged. |
